Delivery & returns.
How delivery is arranged after a purchase is agreed, the extra steps that apply to knives, and your rights if something is wrong.
Delivery
We currently arrange delivery within the United Kingdom. A request to order is not a purchase: before a contract is made, we confirm the item’s availability, any making time, the delivery address, service, cost and estimated delivery window with you in writing.
- Carrier: selected for the item and destination after we have checked the delivery requirements; we do not promise a particular carrier at enquiry stage.
- Delivery cost: agreed individually before purchase. No delivery charge is taken online.
- Regions: mainland UK addresses are considered as standard. Delivery to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Highlands, islands and other remote areas is confirmed case by case before purchase.
- Making and dispatch: availability and any making time are confirmed individually because pieces are made in small batches. Dispatch is arranged only after the purchase and delivery arrangements are agreed.
- Unsuccessful delivery: if a parcel cannot be delivered, we will contact you to agree the next available option. Any additional delivery cost will be agreed before redelivery is arranged.
Boards, conditioning oil and the magnetic knife rack are not age-restricted. If your order includes any knife or knife set, the whole order is delivered as an age-restricted parcel under the rules below.
Knife delivery and age checks
It is illegal to sell most knives to anyone under 18 in the UK. We treat all of our knives and knife sets as age-restricted (18+). The 18+ confirmation in an enquiry is not age verification and we do not rely on it alone.
Before a purchase is agreed
Before a knife purchase is agreed, we explain and arrange the age-verification process appropriate to that sale. Do not send passport details or photo uploads in an enquiry form.
At delivery
- We select a delivery service only after confirming that its age-check and handover process is suitable for the item and destination.
- Lockers are not used for knife deliveries. A home delivery may be possible only where the applicable legal conditions and delivery-service requirements are met.
- Delivery to another adult, including a gift recipient, is considered case by case and is confirmed only where the age-check and handover arrangements permit it.
- If delivery cannot be completed, we will contact you to agree a compliant next step or redelivery before any further delivery is arranged.
Gifts
Gifting may be possible, but delivery and age-check arrangements must be confirmed for the individual purchase and delivery service. Please ask us before requesting to order.
Bulk purchases
We review large or unusual requests before agreeing a purchase. The bulk-sale reporting provisions in the Crime and Policing Act 2026 are not treated as in force on this site until the relevant commencement regulations take effect; we will comply with any reporting duty that applies at the time of sale.
Where the law stands
“Bladed article” is the broader category used for age-restricted knife sales. “Bladed product” is a narrower term used in the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 for items capable of causing serious injury by cutting skin; its remote-delivery rules include restrictions on lockers and residential premises, subject to statutory defences. A home delivery is therefore considered only where the applicable requirements and protections can be met. The Crime and Policing Act 2026 received Royal Assent on 29 April 2026; its new remote-sale age-verification and bulk-sale provisions remain prospective pending commencement. We review the law and delivery arrangements before each knife purchase is agreed.
Returns and cancellation
You may change or withdraw an enquiry free of charge at any time before we have agreed and confirmed a purchase. Once a distance-sales contract has been made, you normally have a statutory right to cancel the purchase. This is a summary of what the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 provide. A product made after an enquiry is not automatically exempt: the exception applies only where goods are genuinely made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
- You can cancel at any time from placing the order until 14 days after the day you receive the goods. Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel, for example by email or through our contact page.
- You then have 14 days from telling us to send the goods back, securely packed.
- We will refund the price of the goods, and standard delivery charges, within 14 days of receiving the goods back or of receiving proof that you have sent them.
- Return postage: you are responsible for return postage unless the goods are faulty or we agree otherwise in writing.
- Goods should be returned unused and in saleable condition. We may reduce a refund if goods have been handled more than was needed to decide whether to keep them.
Knives must be returned in secure packaging that protects the edge and anyone handling the parcel. Contact us before sending a knife back so we can agree a suitable return method.
Gift wrapping and personalisation are not offered, so our standard handmade pieces are not treated as made to individual specification merely because they are made after an enquiry.
Damaged or faulty goods
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If something arrives damaged or develops a fault:
- Contact us as soon as you can, with your order number and photographs of the item and its packaging.
- You can reject faulty goods for a refund within 30 days of delivery. After that, you are generally entitled to a repair or replacement and, if that cannot be done, a price reduction or refund.
- Natural variation in timber grain and colour, and ordinary wear from use, are not faults. Damage caused by dishwashers, soaking, or misuse is not covered. See the care guide.
This page does not affect your statutory rights.
