About this care product

Timber dries out, and a dry board is more likely to crack, stain and warp. A regular coat of oil keeps the fibres supple and slows the absorption of moisture and odours.

This conditioner is a blend of food-safe mineral oil and wax. It is odourless, does not go rancid the way many vegetable oils do, and is designed for use on chopping boards, serving boards and timber knife handles.

Craft details

Supplied in a 250 ml tin with a lid that closes firmly. Apply with a lint-free cloth.

Care guidance

  • Apply a thin, even coat with a lint-free cloth, work it in along the grain and leave for several hours or overnight before wiping off any excess.
  • Use on dry, clean boards and timber handles. Do not use on knife blades.
  • Keep the lid closed and store in a cool place, away from heat and out of the reach of children.
  • Check the ingredients on the pack if you have any sensitivities.
