About this knife storage
A magnetic rack keeps knives where you can reach them and where the edges are not rubbing against other blades. It also keeps them out of drawers.
This rack is made from a single length of walnut with magnets set into the back, so the face of the timber is clean. It holds several knives side by side and is suited to a wall near the worktop.
Always mount it on a secure wall and out of reach of children.
Craft details
The rack is machined from a single length of walnut, with the front edge softened and the surface oiled by hand.
Care guidance
- Wipe with a damp cloth and dry. Do not soak.
- Fix to a solid wall using fixings suited to your wall type, and check that it is secure before loading it with knives.
- Place knives on the rack spine first and let the edge meet the surface gently so it is not chipped by the magnet.
- Mount out of the reach of children.
- Rub in a little board oil once or twice a year to refresh the timber.
